Man U inks Saha to four-year deal

Soccer Betting Lines

12/20/2006 - Manchester, England (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - Despite his current contract not expiring for another two full years, Manchester United forward Louis Saha signed a deal on Wednesday that will keep him at Old Trafford until 2010, further proving that faith that manager Sir Alex Ferguson has in the 28-year- old.

"It's great news," Saha told the club's website. "I'm really enjoying my time here and I wanted to show my commitment to Manchester United, but also repay the faith that Sir Alex has shown in me."

With the departure of Ruud van Nistelrooy this past summer, Saha stepped into the number one striker role and has come through for the Red Devils with a team-leading 12 goals on the season, eight in Premiership play.

"I'm delighted that we have extended Louis's contract, Ferguson told the club's website. "Louis's form has been fantastic since he has come back from injury and he has scored 26 goals in that time."

The one-time injury prone striker has been free of any problems this season, after dealing with issues physically for almost a two-year time period after he arrived from Fulham in January 2004.

Cristiano Ronaldo and Wayne Rooney also committed to long-term contracts with the Red Devils recently, as the Saha extension only boasts the offensive third for Ferguson.

"To add (Saha) to the other players who have recently signed new contracts like Cristiano and Wayne but also to the new additions such as Patrice and Nemanja bodes well for the future," Ferguson said. "We address the situation of players' contracts now and then in order to strengthen the club and it's great to add Louis to the list."

Manchester United currently enjoys a first-place stay in the Premiership two points above the second-place defending champions, Chelsea, as the Old Trafford outfit head into a weekend fixture at Aston Villa.

Dallas Cowboys Super Bowl Odds

Will he or won't he?  Now that the Dallas Cowboys have a new head coach in Wade Phillips, the big question will be: Does Terrell Owens stay with the team.

Jerry Jones continues to suggest that Terrell Owens will remain with the team.

"I've said that he's back, he's here, he's under contract," Jones said. "In the interviews I've just been through (to hire a new coach), it was very clear to me how highly he's thought of and how much of an impact he had on our offensive success."

Just to be sure though, Terrell Owens cleared out his locker and removed his name plate.

Terrell Owens was among the Cowboys most productive players this past season, catching 85 passes for 1,180 yards and a league-best 13 touchdowns.

But T.O. is due a $3 million roster bonus in June, then a $5 million salary this season. Cutting him before then would save a lot of money and headaches.

Aside from the questions surrounding Terrell Owens, the oddsmakers at MySportsbook.com have concerns over starting quarterback Tony Romo's state of mind and whether he will remain a starting quarterback.  It is also not known how players will adjust to new head coach, Wade Phillips.
